The innovative reading of the classic for children ˝The Three little Pigs˝ by the theatre company Pinklec brings universal values in the foreground – friendship, diligence and solicitude for all individuals, even for a wolf.

This is why we follow the show ˝I’m not afraid of the big bad wolf˝ by the theatre company Pinklec from the point of view of the Elderly wolf, who, in his part of the narrator, recollects his exciting younger days when his chief preoccupation was to gobble up everybody on his way. Thus his storytelling becomes the frame for an exciting epic of fortunes and misfortunes, starring his younger self.

When the three little pigs, Brick, Plank and Straw are sent into the world by their mother to build their own homes, they find themselves in a forest, where a dangerous wolf is lurking on them. The houses the brothers are building become the symbol of their development. When the eldest among  them, Brick, gives priority to building a secure home rather than playing games, he sends an important message that we should not be lazy and take things lightly in our lives. While the world of the imagination of the little pigs is like that of a child’s, the wolf becomes a metaphor for everything terrible waiting for us during our lives, problems bothering us, obstacles to overcome, tasks to be accomplished.

In order to save their lives, the pigs themselves taught the young wolf a lesson on the threshold of his maturity, in this ˝story within a story˝ – ˝No pain, no gain and no house without hard work˝. It is finally the pigs themselves who advise the young and ˝dangerous˝ wolf how to deal with his hunger – to become the guitarist of the band ˝At the old Oak˝.

A dynamic succession of narrative and acted scenes, elements of slapstick comedy, caricatural acting and songs, accompanied by the sounds of the acoustic guitar of the elderly narrator  wolf − all of that contributes to the attractiveness of this show’s plot; its language being close and intriguing to the kindergarten and primary school children.
