ABOUT THE PLAY
In the past two years we are witnessing one of the greatest civilization crises of modern times. We have faced the refugee crisis unprepared and our aptitude to help and make use of all our human potential to really recognize and embrace the others has been tempted. Among numerous refugees there is a great number of underaged children fleeing the war and exile. Many of them travel unaccompanied on the most precarious journey of their lives. Their childhood has been disrupted for ever.
The performance ‘Across seven Seas, over seven Mountains’ brings their stories on stage. The show is based on genuine documents, telling the story of a journey to a better life but still to a precarious and uncertain destination. It is a journey where those who opt for it lose everything but their own life. This performance tries to give them their right back to tell their stories. It tells the story through the eyes of children who, despite everything, still try to keep their right to playing games, having toys and fairy tales, having a childhood. However, it also reminds us of how little is needed to embrace others.
