The story about Alice, a little girl who falls down the Rabbit−Hole and lands in a fantastic world inhabited by most unbelievable creatures has charmed children of the whole world for more than 150 years. The fantastic narrative of the novel, an original play on logics and a critical approach to the child treatment in society is very inspiring for many artists, which is why numerable adaptations of the novel into diverse media came into being.

The Zagreb Youth Theatre offers a different, original story about Alice. This Alice does not want to grow up, fearing if she does, she would lose her power of imagination. Simply – we are telling about what would happen if one day when we came to the theatre and were seated among the audience, imagination, this most important thing on stage, disappeared altogether. What would happen if there were no more imagination? A universal story about the need for art, as well as the need for the story itself is presented by Alice’s exciting journey and her search for personal identity. Nowadays, when we get bombarded by a ruthless reality, when everything is based on profit, when the adult world looks more and more hopeless, the question that has to be posed is whether we still have enough courage and energy to make use of our imagination.

The performance is aimed at teenagers about twelve but like all performances for the young at the ZYT it will be interesting to their parents and grandparents, too.
